We would like to introduce you to a product bearing the prestigious German brand name, Steiner—a product we have been privileged enough to use and enjoy in our matches. Although small in size, it surprises with its great design and strong magnification. Everything from the binoculars, to their case, and even to the box that they come in, these optical devices speak of the professional quality of items bearing the Steiner brand name.

To begin, the semi-rigid case is very resilient against hits and can endure certain loads of pressure. The case is impermeable, opens via zipper, and once open, can remain open thanks to two lateral cloth latches. This original system then allows for the entire case to be semi-rigid, unlike traditional cases made of a more flexible material that often leave them more vulnerable to damage by hits.

Another one of the case’s great features is the texture of the outside material—a material that offers a safe and easy grip. Once extracted, the first thing we notice about the binoculars is their light weight and the incredible adherence offered by their rubber exterior. This exterior makes them resistant against scrapes, hits, water, and even with minimal pressure, allows for a secure grip.

With a size of 114 mm and a mass of 270 g, one can easily stow the binoculars in many different pockets. Aside from its easy stowing and firm grip, its handling is made incredibly easy by its balanced weight distribution, how light it is, and the smooth lines that doubly give its design an air of elegance and modernity.

As we bring them up to our eyes, their fine optical character manifests itself through the clear image and precise focus they offer. The binoculars come equipped with eye sockets that keep out extraneous light, and therefore assist in offering a near perfect image. These flexible membranes can also be adjusted to be able to use the binoculars even while wearing glasses. One of the ocular canals also has a dioptic adjustment that allows for a finer focus.

|
With these binoculars, the central adjustment wheel is used primarily to adjust focus for the right eye, the one without the fine dioptic adjustment. The adjustment wheel’s grooves offer enhanced grip and are ergonomically set for fingertips.

Once pre-focused, the dioptic adjustment located on the left ocular canal then offers a finer focus. When carrying out the task of finding the ideal focus, one can especially appreciate the all-around rubber exterior that facilitates grip and adjustment.

Also, as can be seen in the photo, we appreciate the ovular grips on the underside of each optical canal that are specially designed to rest comfortably on the thumbs. As they have undergone a special treatment, the high quality lenses avoid condensation from humidity brought on by changes in temperature.

As with the best sunglasses, the binoculars block and eliminate UV rays and glares, offering protection to our eyes and maintaining great images in snow, desert, or sea. All Steiner models include BAK-4 lenses that keep colors truer and offer better images in low light conditions than most other binoculars.

Its adjustable black nylon strap, aside from maintaining a clean look, is resistant to warping brought on by humidity, tension, and torsion.

The Safari model comes in dark brown, perfect camouflage and is resistant to staining, making it ideal for adventure sports and outdoor activities like bird watching. Its 10X magnification offers a clear image, superior color contrast, and a field of vision from 105 m to 1,000 m that allows the user to maintain a point of reference when focusing in a desired direction.

|
|
We are grateful to Steiner for being able to rely on this first-rate product, as its benefit will be duly noted in our matches. We highly recommend this model designed for the outdoors, as it is resistant to rain, climate change, shock, manufactured for decades of use, and is even backed by a 10-year guarantee that ensures the quality and durability promised by the optical technology of these German engineers.
