Since our point of contact with this new product just a couple months ago, now is the time when we have in our hands TAC GEAR, this second generation de Parcas is now new and improved; the previous model still fits and is still in production mode. Its because of it we have showed the first generation introduction analysis. That explains the origin and what they are used for under environments that are recreational and real.

In collaboration with German Special Forces, ever since being founded in 2003, Tac Gear has developed a series of clothes and accessories that have acquired a magnificent reputation for their quality and durability; the most famous of which is the Combat Smock. This particular piece has been in use since World War II and offers extra camouflage, advanced protection against the elements, has a cargo net, etc. Combat Smocks continue being very popular among European armed forces (especially English and German), but for some reason have not established themselves among North American armed forces. The latest jacket used by the US Army that has most closely resembled the Combat Smock was the old M1965 jacket, or the night parka used in Desert Storm.

From this point we need to make reference that these sizes are determined by standard base height of a medium build German. From what we’ve seen within Spain, we can say that a small size is equivalent to a medium size and on. As same as the previous model TAC GEAR , is its own Combat Smock in various camouflages such as (black, olive, German Flecktran, Danish Flecktran, Nieve danes, Dpm British, Swedish etc. Made out of nylon and cotton, rip stop at 50%; this model is much more rigid and much more light weight than the previous model; well rounded from the users commodity and point of view. It’s water repellant, even though it wouldn’t stay dry if it rained a lot. But it was also not designed to be a rain coat in its basic form, a model already exists specifically which we will make reference later on.

The size can be adjusted to fit all tanks with an internal cord, medium length with loops (tanka clips). Combat Smock #10 YKK assures that the zipper is solid and resistant, with two directions. The zipper is protected with a Velcro cover up and with four Canadian style buttons (one more than the previous model of the first generation),aside from that it has Velcro for ranks as well.

At the end of each sleeve, there is a piece of Velcro in order to adjust the size for the wrists. The end result has been modified to fit better at an angle that sits on top of each hand, which provides more protection. The sleeves have double fabric (outside in dernier cordura) from the elbow almost all the way to the wrists to loosen up the extractable fabric of neoprene, that act like elbow patches.
The Combat Smock hood is designed well enough that it is easily adjusted with little or no effort at all. The hood is sufficiently big enough in order to have a helmet on top if needed and also in the back part there is a compartment when not in use can be put away. Adjusting the hood, can be done so by a cord.

This can be done with one hand, the frontal part of the hood has a internal wire that maintains its shape, that makes for better cover if it rains. The news is made possible thanks to YKK zipper brand, a detail to be appreciated if time permits itself, given its an element that can be hooked on trees, etc. The latest innovation would be that the jacket has a cover in its interior that’s made out of fabric that is Climax Cool, waterproof that was not in the previous model.

The ventilation air ways in these types of models are essential, given that they permit the use of them during harsh temperatures. Like the first model of its generation, these enormous openings are located under the sleeves, from the elbow all the way up until the underarm. As far as this new innovation, there have been a few additions such as cords attached to the YKK zippers that go in two directions; so that you are able to get to them with gloves on. If more ventilation is needed there are two Napoleon style pockets in the front part, that are great for easy access under Combat Smock.

It consists of two front inferior pockets and two side; which now can be closed with two Canadian style buttons and with a pocket in the back as well. This substitutes the buttons for Velcro sealers that are way more efficient and faster; which makes it more comfortable to wear along with an interior zipper that goes in two directions. In the exterior part there are pockets near the chest, closed with two Canadian style buttons instead of an older version. Also there are two pockets secured with zippers. On the top exterior there are two linens of Velcro to sustain name patches, units etc…

The use of bulletproof vests, anti-fragment jackets, tactical jackets, trenches etc. These type of jackets have been gaining much importance because of there efficiency such as the pockets alongside the arms, etc. These jackets are sufficiently big enough to actually be used overall, because of there exterior Velcro; ideal in order to use the patches for equipment or things of the sort. The newest part of this item is the underlining has the same camouflage as the Parca, that covers the exterior of the pockets that can be taken apart or not depending if necessary. A detail that improves camouflage, which it prevents it from showing like in any of the previous models; apart from protecting the Velcro as well.

To better show the inferior part of the clothing we’ve developed the photos giving them a look from the model shown. We’ve noticed that they come with two pockets with superior zippers now in the Mesh. (To access the item of clothing better you can do so by unbuttoning, given that it is a little complicated like the previous Napoleon type). Also we can see where the cord passes through the waist and below (very useful in order to block hot or cold air from coming in). Near the side and back part we can see three big pockets with Velcro sealers inside, that can be used to carry maps or other light objects that are now in Mesh fabric, which makes it much lighter. Obviously it would be difficult to access any item of clothing if we have the bulletproof vests on , etc. Being the most comfortable Rhodesiano or Chest Rigg that leave there vests with enough space for Combat Smock.

In Conclusion, an item of clothing that has been upgraded in every aspect and at a level of satisfaction where all of the consumers will be pleased. Not only will the consumer be satisfied because its been upgraded, but also the assurance that it’s the best out there in the market for any outcome (remember that this is a professional item, made specifically for special forces all over the world). We would not want to end this article without mentioning that there is a version that exists that it has many of the same qualities such as water resistant, Climax cool, etc. The only downside will be the possibility of acquiring an incomplete outfit of the same brand as so analyzed in another article.
